I-CHING Hexagram #47
"Oppression"

Tui The Joyful, lake K´an The Abyss, Water. The lake is above and the water below; the lake is empty, dry. The higher trigram belongs to the principle of darkness; and the lowest, to that of light. The superior men are oppressed and submissive to the restrictions of the inferior ones.

It shows the man that with the lack of rancor and a with momentaneous cofusion in the emergengy, he can be led into success. The man succeeds in imposing his own will, by means of a quiet strength in the middle of times of exhaustion.

To get started

We are in the middle of a period of exhaustion. This is the result of natural laws rather than faults of us. It serves, in every case, to strengthen our character and reinforce our feelings towards people. One talks and nobody believes; one wants to undertake something and it is impossible. We will overcome these times with a firm spiritual position; and with a lot of effort, reach success.

To end

We are going to approach a stage in which without deserving it, and from outside, a state of oppression is coming closer. This means a period in which nothing can be done without a great effort. It comes by its own, and it leaves alone, but in the meantime, it is necessary to keep our character firm and try little achievements. This way we will overcome the period and there will be success.

sentence
